英検２級単語の「experiment」は、どういう意味？ 語源は？

Longman 辞書によると、「experiment」の意味は、以下のとおりです。
a scientific test done to find out how something reacts under certain conditions, or to find out if a particular idea is true
(特定の条件下で、特定の事象がどのように反応するか、または特定の考えが正しいかどうかを調べるために行う科学的なテスト)
experiment の語源
「experiment」の語源は、online etymology dictionary によると、以下のとおりです。
from Latin experimentum “a trial, test, proof, experiment,” noun of action from experiri “to try, test,” from ex “out of” (see ex-) + peritus “experienced, tested,”
「experiment」はラテン語の「experimentum」（試行、テスト、証明）から来ており、その元は動詞「experiri」（試す、経験する）です。「experiri」は、ex（out of = 外へ）+ peritus（経験した、試された）に由来しています。
つまり、つまり、ex（外へ）+ peri（試す、経験する）+ ment（名詞化）という組み合わせで覚えることができます。
